The secret behind finding the right plant to fill your space is to find the best one that brings your space to life and create harmony to the eye. First, ask yourself, would I like color in my plants or just the green? If so, what colors would compliment the area surrounding the plant? Then, ask yourself, how many plants would I like? Would I like one large/medium plant? Or a few smaller plants to fit on a shelf or window seal as you see in the pictures above? After that you want to ask, would I like potted for free hanging plants? Would I like them to give off a certain smell, or none at all? Bathrooms are a big eye catcher in a house. Think about it, when you go to someone's house and find that their bathroom is a complete masterpiece, you instantly are impressed because bathrooms are the least thought about room in the house, and that is why it is so important. The bathroom is the least thought of room in a house, so when it is clean with the right lighting, the right accessories, and the overall feel of that bathroom is a breath of fresh air, that is an accomplishment. As often as bathrooms are overlooked, architects and interior designer understand and remind just how important the loo is. Bathrooms mainly consist of light, neutral colors, open spaces, tile instead of carpet, and tiles on the wall instead of plain drywall for the condensation coast down and not cause mold. The mood a room gives off is very important and related to what the rooms' function is or will be. This mood board is made for the planning of an office space. The room will be planned with this vibrant green you see to keep productivity flowing as you work in your office. The lively colors induce creativity and production to make you want to finish the job or project you are working on. You also will pare these vibrant colors with more neutral colors such as black, grey, or white to pull these vibrants together and to tone these down. Let's say you want a color like yellow, you would add grey and whites to not overpower the yellow but to tone it together. These mood boards are used by interior designers to plan out a room and put visuals together for clients and themselves to match colors, patterns, carpets, etc. Tune in for the next vlog!
Rustic living was a very in-style interior design in the early 2000's. Some say it is still in style, but it has to do with personal style. Rustic living is called just that because of the earthy tones, as you see in this two very different living spaces, and the use of the earth elements. These earth elements include wood, rock, natural lighting, or a natural flow of the three. Both of these living spaces have the combination of all three in complete harmony and flow. Both of these living spaces have natural wood, on the left it is refurbished wood, which is older wood that is reused and restored for another purpose. The living space of the right has a repeating bookshelf using painted wood to match the other light, earth tones to create harmony. These living spaces also use rock as a tie, the left living space as well as the right living space uses this rock around their fire place to bring notice to the centerpiece of the room. Lastly, these two living spaces use natural lighting to complete the earthy look. Rustic living is a design of the past, but a very needed style of today.
