Paris is known to be the most artistic city in the world! The old buildings, homes, and apartments are a historical site. But. . . the new modern building are to live for! Most are very natural with light, skin tone callers, natural woods, lighting, and open spaces. When you go to Paris, you are looking for a view, that is also true for residents. Most modern homes have very large windows supported by metal beams to hold the large glass windows. The geometric shapes of most modern contemporary homes, add to the art aspect of what the city is known for. This specific home is in the suburbs of Paris, also known as Les Banlieues. Les Banlieues is full of artsy homes and architecturally amazing! Most homes in the city are apartments, but equally eye catching and artsy! Visit if you can and see for yourself !

THIS beautiful, functional space is in New Zealand! Yes, we are traveling abroad for this blog and it is to one of the most expensive countries in the world. New Zealand is known for its' pricey visits and living expenses, so you can only imagine how expensive these luxuries, spaces are. These very modern homes are priced around
Most people, when they think of cottages, they picture an old, wood, and stone house in the middle of dense woods with slight smoke from a fire coming out of the lopsided fireplace. In reality, that could be true, but nowadays it's a very calming and beautiful vacation, (or if you are into it, a permanent address).
Last week I said we would discuss the psychological effect on certain part of the brain that a space, colors, lighting, and feel can cause. This cool cottage triggers your sense of home with the natural light, the earthy, white, tones, and open spaces. The repeating chandeliers with soft light, and cotton covers over the furniture, causes your brain to relax your body and nervous system, causing endorphins to release stress and tension. A lot of people do not enjoy watching nature, trees, and birds, but our body needs it; studies show that from our past, our bodies react naturally to nature, not cement. The sound of the birds and other various animals is satisfying a need we don't know of and, the breeze and the fresh oxygen from the trees revitalizes old polluted oxygen in our lungs to make us healthier. Tune in next week to see more beautiful, and functional spaces! Homes from abroad are not to different from homes in America. They are more modern than the homes we see here in the U.S.; other than the rich and expensive ones. You will see many of these sleek, open, homes, these homes above are from Australia. Most homes in Australia are very modern, light, and open because of the heat and the all year around summers; that way the rooms are very airy and usually they have many windows. Even most of the colors you see are earthy, light and comfortable. There is a lot of white used in both homes and windows from wall to wall to let a lot of natural light in to accent the earthy cool colors. This combination makes a comfortable space to get out of the intense heat, but still feel like you are outside in a way. You also see this modern side in the furniture and use of space. The home on the left used their space to be compacted, but still comfortable with the light orange, and white. The home on the right uses its space as a breath.; when you would walk into this space you would feel the air around you to be so open and light from the unused space. Now, people hear 'unused space' as bad, but it isn't. Unused space gives a person the feeling of the space that is not used, it gives them peace and actually calms them. Making modern spaces, uses more psychological units than any other style. I will explain more on psychological units when you tune it next week, remember, keep your spaces beautiful and functional!
This beautiful master bath is relaxing, and functional! This master bath is a full scale bathroom, complete with shower, tub, sink, his/her robe racks, towel shelf and many other functional furniture and uses. This bath combines earthy colors to create a calming effect to release tension and create a safe environment like a bathroom should; this relaxing bathroom combines natural wood with stone drainage beneath the sink and shower areas. Rich, dark, wood and brick, also make an appearance . Notice the fine detailing within the wall structure, yellow instead of white lights are above the tub to continue the earthy tones instead of using bright, synthetic lighting, but also bringing in mostly natural light from the windows and the sky-scape above the jacuzzi style tub. Lastly, please take notice of the can lights. These lights are used so the unnatural light does not overpower the setting, and again, keeping those warm earthy tones. Follow me next week as we look at another beautiful, relaxing, and functional space! Have a good week!
