There are many, many, different styles of houses and homes, contemporary, classical, modern, art deco, country house, georgian, just to name a few. For this blog though, we are going to focus on two specifically, Victorian an Art Deco. Victorian homes, originally named Victorian style, is named after a time in history, the Victorian era when Queen Victoria ruled Britain in 1837. All pieces were made separately and usually the houses were built in terraces or as detached houses. The Victorian era is known for its love and remenisable revival of historic styles mixed with the introduction of middle east and Asian influences in furniture, fittings, and interior decoration. The Victorian era is how the United stated got it's original influence from the middle east and Asia. The Art Deco or the moderne style home is very updated and has developed greatly since 1930 when it migrated to the U.S. and Europe. When you hear Art Deco style home you think, " Well this house should have some good art then!" In fact most of the art styles are influenced from the various painting styles of the early twentieth century, ranging from Cubism to Italian Futurism. In the simplest way, the Art Deco styled home, really brought the modern style out of hiding and even influenced the art of the 1930's.
